I am in the same boat with the Gangster apes for my Road King classic. I'm 5' 10" so do yall think 16s or 14s ? I also run a windshield at times.

Mine are 16's and im 6'2"

 

Go with the 14" they fit perfect. Im 5'7 and the bars i have are perfect. They actually sit around 15 1/2 "

 

Do they come knurled?

 

My Flyin apes are not knurled. I don't think any of them are. I have the Carlini High Roller Risers and they have a set screw to "lock" the bars in place.

 

I'm 5'10" I went with 14" x 1.5 they're about shoulder height with the stock seat and alittle above with the bare bones seat that's with them set strait up.
I got the boob riser too it clamps down on them tight never had them move yet.

 

It is my understanding that the 1.25" diameter bars are knurled, and the 1.5" bars are not. I have the 1.5"'s with the high roller risers as well.

My gangster 1.25 non stepped bars are not knurled.May be the 1.25 stepped bars are.

 

My bars are 1.25" non-stepped and they are not knurled. They don't make the 12' Flyin Apes in a 1.5", if they did that's what I would've went with. Maybe the stepped bars are knurled??
