Love the look
Drew,
Just saw the pic's of your softail and it's exactly the look I'm going for. I just picked up a 1987 fxstc that's been sitting for awhile. It's getting pretty cold here in New York so now is the perfect time to make some much needed mods. A few questions if you don't mind.
How much did you drop it front
and rear? How is the ride? What products did you use to drop it?
I have been searching the net for rear shock ideas but the '87' fxstc has the reservoir setup and I can't find much in the way of mod. or updates.
First real post for me so be gentle.
Thanks, kc

One of the issues I have when I remove the passenger pillion seat on the fatboy and just go with the stock rider seat is that my butt slides back onto the rear fender. (I have long legs...33" inseam.) Does this happen with the solo seats?...it looks like most of the solo seats have a 'notch' in them where your butt goes, so that you don't slide back.....

That seat looks pretty good for an inexpensive seat. I'm watching one of those Ultima gel solo seats on ebay right now. How are they for comfort? Just looking for a solo seat for short rides of 100-150 miles.

Heres one that I had Roberti Customs do for me. Worked out even better because he's local. It started out as a stock 2008 fatboy seat which he shaped, and recovered. The outsides are black leather, the inner brown with the black stingray inlays on each side. The design in the brown leather is hand burnt into the leather using a soldering iron. He did an amazing job. I had it on my fatboy, but when I sold it I couldnt let the seat go so it resides on my Luxe now. Dont have any pics of it on my bike, but here it is when I got it.

I'm still trying to decide between putting a different sprung seat on my bike or going with a conventional one, but I had a C&C LoPro solo on my Sporty before I traded up, nothing but good things to say about C&C and Chuck. Class act all the way. They look great and are very comfortable to ride on. If I don't get a 1925 spring seat I'll be getting another C&C for sure.

Danny Gray Buttcrack Solo on my Heritage.
To answer your question about sliding back-won't happen with the one I have. Can't speak for anyone else. Mine locks me in. I was suprised the first time I rode and put my feet on the highway pegs. I pushed back against the backrest and wouldn't budge. It's like being in the cockpit.
