I have been looking for info. on the size of my 1999 FXSTC gas tanks. I thought that they were all the same but I found an ad that said the Softail Custom and Softail Heritage used 5 gallon tanks while all other Softails had 4 gallon tanks. Can anyone here confirm this?

 

A lot of Softails have 4.2 gallon tanks...I have no idea which Softails got which. You can tell them apart by looking at them on the bike.

 

I have a 99 fxstc and it has 5 gal. tanks. I think the older ones had the smaller tanks. FRank

 

Thanks for the replies guys. I was originally thinking of buying new/used tanks to replace the limited set I have. I was hoping to keep the limited set together even though they are damaged, I am starting to think that I will just have the tanks repaired and repaint them. I guess they are worthless as a limited set with the dents in them, I am sure it would cost more to try and fix/replicate them than what they are worth.
