Default Whats the best spark plug???Does it really matter??

Ok everyone, I'm upgrading my wires on my Rocker, so I was wondering...
What set of Spark Plugs are the best?
What is everyone running?
Does it really make a difference?

Much Aloha

there was a video on here a while back of a dyno run for ngk iridiums with the results the tuner stated that for the money the hp and torque gain was the best mod for the money. I havent put them in yet but they are going in before summer.

Those NGKs will last longer too. Less chance of stripping threads since you don't have to replace them as much.

There is much debate regarding this subject, as there also is with plug wires. Just do a search and you'll find a lot of discussions about it.

I believe in the spark plug being so important in the performance of an engine that I even go so far as to "tune" the plugs when I install them... set the gap side of the plug toward the valve opening so that the fuel mist is not blocked at all from the spark.

For what it's worth, my mechanic swears by these plugs http://www.e3sparkplugs.com/ and won't use anything else in his shop.

Since the advent of Lead-free gasoline . . . WESPIOS is my choice.

WESPIOS = What Ever Spark Plug Is On Sale

There actually aren't many spark plug manufacturers out there, and most of the "performance" plugs are made by one of the big players (ACDelco, Champion, Autolite, NGK, and Bosch) and even the big players will purchase low volume (ie motorcycle) plugs from each other to fill out their product Line.

New plugs with electrodes that have clean sharp edges will generate the best Power Numbers . . . but even then, if you're really lucky, you're talking about maybe one quarter of one percent difference between a clearly worn out spark plug and a brand new one. With stock ignition coils that can produce over 50,000 volts at any RPM the engine will stay together at . . . the condition of the Spark Plug isn't the factor that it was 20 or 30 years ago.
