I can't answer the question on l.E.D.'s, but I'm curious why you'd want to do that ?

They make LED's that you can put into your stock bulb sockets. You can even get em at parts stores such as Pep Boys, Auto Zone and Advanced. You will need to install what I believe is called a load equalizer or resistor. Someone should correct me on the name if I got it wrong. Otherwise your turn signals will function as if you had a blown light bulb (the will blink really fast).

Yes you can swap them out to LED's, but if they are used as a turn signal, a load equalizer is required for reasons Skeetzmachine stated. I have them on both my bikes.

Check out Custom Dynamics Cluster LED's. They plug right in and are very bright/intense, lifetime warranty. Would not waste money on cheap ones - you will be disappointed.

By running lights i meant the auxillary lamps, the ones on either side of the main lamp on a deluxe. one of them is out now and i just thought that going brighter will increase the safety factor.

Great looking Dobie you got! i've had 4 so far in my lifetime. i meant the auxillary lights so they are not the turn signals, therefore it is just 'plug and play?'

I always get my LED's from www.superbrightleds.com . They've got every shape, size, etc. I've had them in pretty much everything I've owned that has a bulb socket, even glove compartments of vehicles haha.
