Use a 5/8 deep socket with a short extention.

That is what I was using and it kept slipping. The socket and plug didnt look stripped. I guess I will try again tomorrow.

Yup, 5/8". I use an extension and a deep socket. Lazy man style...

I use an Allen Socket. It fits easily between the shocks and on a 3" extension with a regular ratchet it gives more than enough leverage. It also makes considerably less of a mess than using a socket.

I use the Allen to get the plug threaded. Then finish tightening with the socket. The Allen provides a more precise "feel" for the threads.
