Question Bib instead of tape on rear fender okay?

I want to remove the protective tape on the rear fender of my LO. I usually don't have the passenger seat on there anyway and almost always have the bib on there to cover the tape. Would it cause any damage to the fender if I was to remove the tape and use the bib as protection when I do have the passenger seat on there? I did this last night for a quick ride with my son and it seemed to work nicely. But I'm afraid to remove the tape before hearing some of your opinions? Thanks!

not sure but I removed the tape this weekend.. it stuck out from under my bib and looked bad.. I ride 95% solo but when my OL rides I guess I'll try to put her seat on over the bib.

I put my passenger seat on over the bib when needed and there are no issues

I removed the tape.
Whenever my son rides with me I remove the bib and install the pillion again. I've had no scratches till now. The swap takes about 1 minute.

Is the tape hard to get off? Mine has been on there for six years. I'm wondering what the best method would be to remove it.

Thanks

could be I would guess.. mine's still new and it took a little work... think of it as really sticky, thick, rubbery tape.... peeled it off slowly and MOST adhesive came off with it.. what remained I removed with Goof Off...

Try a hair dryer to soften it up....should pull right off.

I don't use the passenger seat but have a bag I tie down for longer trips. I put a couple of layers of clear packing tape on the fender so the bag doesn't rub the paint. Stick it to your hand first so it's not so sticky. Makes it easier to take off later.

I took the film off, and use a Mustang bib when I run the passenger seat. Run the bare fender most of the time. Any scratches I had came from the ends of the seat where the protective film did not cover. Got the dealer to buff those out...
