Deuce vs. Wide Glide/Street Bob
#23
My end goal is to have a chopper-styled bike, with a performance upgrade through a PCV, Stage 3, bigger air intake, and new pipes (Big radius), and a 'look' upgrade with a bobbed back fender, lowered rear end, slim solo seat, and 14" apes. Possibly a rake of the front, but even more than the wide glide.
That's about 10K more. Just my opinion but at that price I would get the Softail for a base. Ride them both. That will tell you what you want.

softail way easier to trick out in my opinion. still lots of stuff to do to dynas as well. As for the big radius, in my opinion go with something else. They are good pipes and all, but everyone is buying them. I have them on my bike and I am starting to want new pipes due to the fact that I see them on so many bikes.

Well, I was never a big fan of the Deuce; I think the proportions are all wrong. And the rear fender's gotta go. But that's just me. Also, when you look for accessories, they all say "Fits ALL Softails EXCEPT Deuce". IMHO for Softails--Custom, NightTrain or Standard. These just look TOO good! Or for WideGlides, I would get something pre-06, when they changed the look too much to be a real WideGlide.
Around here, all you ever see are denim black Streetbobs & Vivid Black StreetGlides. That's really played out. For the money, I think you get more bike & a MUCH better lookin' Dyna in a SuperGlide Custom.
