Default Can springer front end be installed on a heritage.

Hey everyone

I am in sturgis and tomorrow plan on riding a heritage and a couPle other models. My main question is if I really like the heritage then is it possible to install a hd springer front end to end up looking like the heritage springers they made several years back????

yes you can..but you proly need to change the wheel bearings to 3/4 cuz i dont think they make a springer for the 1 inch axle.

wouldn't it be cheaper to find a left over Xbones and put on the fenders?

The Heritage Springer Classics were made from 2005-2007.

I believe that the Heritage Springer came out in '97. ( The original Springer FXSTC in '88.)

Yes, Springer forks will bolt right to a Softail frame.

Probably your best option...if you want the Heritage look... you need an FL springer front end and they rarely come up for sale used...an FX springer will not work with an Heritage type front fender without extensive mods.

If you want to do this, you'll need the FL springer front end, not the FX springer front end. Reason being, the rake on the springers were built into the triple trees with the FL rake different than the FX rake.

Then you will most likely need the springer-specific front wheel and the springer-specific fender and the springer-specific brake caliper.

As they say in the hot-rodding community, you can make just about anything fit with anything, all it takes is time, talent, and money.

Now the next thing to think about is that by the time you've sunk a lot of time, talent, and money into this swap, what do you end up with?? A bastard......which will never be worth as much as a stock bike. If it's a springer you want....then get a springer. There are plenty of them on the used market (which is all you have left now that Harley no longer makes a soringer model).

Or find a used Heritage Springer and save some money too.
