Low fuel light stays on

Low fuel light stays on
I installed the HD flush mount gas guage and gas fill on a 06 fat boy, everything works fine on the new guage but the low fuel light stays on on the console. I followed the instructions and it had me remove the yellow with white stripe wire on the speedometer, called HD for help and they said 60$ hour for there help, can anyone help me Thanks

Welcome to the club.
Lots of info here, particularly towards the middle/end of the thread.
Still working on this one myself. My console indicator currently acts as a "high-fuel" indicator - comes on with full tank, stays on til I burn off a gallon or so.
Good luck. If you fix it, please report back! (I will too.) - BrianK

I had no trouble with this... I would guess that you haven't wired the bypass correctly or you don't have a good connection.
There are also two versions of the fuel gauge... when my first one went bad, I got what I >think< is an older version... so my memory may be a bit soggy on this, but, the first one that I installed required that you wire directly from the flush gauge to the speedo gauge. This sends a constant signal to the low fuel light so that it never lights up. The second method wired to the connection block under the tank... but I don't remember if you spliced or simply connected for this one.
If you can't get this solved, let me know and I will go get my instructions and go through them with you...
It is also easy to wire it backwards... because the connection block under the tank is upside down on the bike from the instructions...

You need to do both - connect the gauge wiring harness to the bike harness under the tank, AND run the "long gray wire" from the bike harness to the speedo. It's the latter I haven't done yet - I expect that will cure the problem.

Brian is right on with his statement, I installed mine a little while back and had the same issues until I hooked up the grey wire, I believe the grey wire eliminates the low gas light on the dash panel
