Default LEDS for show. Need fuse size.

Hey folks I have leds on my bike to show off the chrome and for night riding and I noticed they were not working last night. Pulled the seat off and the inline fuse that connects them to the battery was open and missing the fuse.

I need to replace the inline fuse connector and fuse but need the know what size the fuse is.

LEDs where on the bike when i bought so know prior knowledge of fuse.

no problem, some of the name brand sites were calling for the 3amp, so id try those first, if they seem to pop fast bump it up by one. also read your fuse should be what it draws to power em. so maybe wire em straight up and measure the amperage they pull

LED's draw very little power and won't require a big fuse. Here's a handy link for determining fuse size requirements.

The Fuse is there to protect the wiring, not the bulb or LED. I suspect that you have not replaced the wiring harness . . . .therefore . . . Use whatever fuse size was originally specified for the circuit when it had bulbs in it.

FYI, technically a fuse is generally 4 gauge sizes smaller (numerically larger) than the wire you are trying to protect. Essentially you are intentionally creating the "weak link" in the chain at a location of the designers choosing that is considered relatively safe and convenient.
