Power Commander V vs. Power Vision

Another advantage with the PV is you can buy an additional license for use on a different bike through DynoJet. The cost is $199. We bought the PV, through FuelMoto, and flashed my son's 2012 Street Bob. I then bought an additional license and flashed my 2012 Heritage, with a map provided by FuelMoto. BTW, they both run great with the PV. AL
I believe my son paid $549 for the PV and the SE Stage 1 A/C. Add in another $199 for the second license and the overall price is not bad. The PV will accomodate a total of 6 different bikes. AL

My understanding is you can get a new LIC for your new bike cost of $199 and leave the tune on the old bike, as you will have to leave the tune on the old bike anyway unless you removed all the modded parts. When selling the bike if your removing the tuner it will not run right at all and may damage the bike without the tune on the old bike.....

Boy my head is spinning. Trying to make up my mind between the PV or one of the auto tuners be it the PC5, Cobra or Thundermax. I'm thinking right now I'd be better off with an auto tuner of some type. The PV would be so easy and doesn't have to stay hooked to the bike, but I'm not sure if canned maps are the way to go. If I have to end up taking it to a tuner anyway to get the perfect tune then I guess I'm better off with one of the auto tuners that stay on the bike all the time.

[quote=prstaples1911;9636429]My understanding of the Powercommander Vision is that it marries itself to the bike and cannot be used with another bike. If that is true, that key disadvantage outweighs all the other advantages. I know my own ownership habits and I keep bikes for about three years. If the used bike selection at the local dealership is any indication, so do many of you.
Yeah...it does marry !
"How many motorcycles can I use the Power Vision on?
The Power Vision will only be able to tune one motorcycle (flash it as many times as you like). It can be connected to other motorcycles to monitor / log data, check and clear DTC’s (diagnostic trouble codes), and reset adaptive learning. "
You can pay another $200 so you can tune 2 bikes.

Nobody has made any mention of the auto-tune. Dos this PV have anything like it?
I just had cams and big bore upgrades.
There was no canned maps for exactly my setup. Got one that was close
and it ran ok, but not great. some popping etc.
I enabled the auto-tune in my PC (had deactivated it previously when I had the bike just right) and witin 20-30 miles it has that rough map fine tuned and the bike running like clockwork...

Wow. That is quite a racket Dynojet has going. So its $500 for a new PC Vision. If I sell the bike and keep the PC Vision, I need to pay $199 for an additional license. Now the guy who bought my old bike will probably want to pay $500 for a new PC Vision to play with the tune I left on my old bike, particularly if he changes anything.
So after two bikes they get $700 from me and $500 from the guy who bought my bike for a total of $1,200. That is quite steep considering a new Power Commander 5 was like $250 and could be sold with the bike or possibly reused on the new one if there were not changes to the electronics.

Most of us are leaving the controller on the bike after all the mods your adding it mast stay on the bike for it to run unless you flash the bike. Flash the bike and the new owner can jump on and ride with no problems and is a good selling point too.
No comments on if I should put the 2009 or 2010 header pipes on my bike as the 2009 run Wideband O2's and 2010 do not?
