Default Cruise/Throttle Assist Input

Did a Search and didn't find much......nothing in past 2+ years. Thinking about pulling the trigger on a new 103 Heritage, and wondering if anybody is running the Kuryakn Magnetic Throttle Assist on their bike, and would provide their input on how it works, and how it compares to the factory electronic cruise control on the tourers. The Heritage would become my long-haul bike, and cruise for me is a requirement. If the Kury is not the answer, then I may have to look around for a deal on a 2011 CVO Softail that already has the factory cruise standard.

Thanks.

you are getting rid of a touring bike for a softail, so you can tour on it?

Well..........100 lbs lighter and around 2" or so lower seat height than the tourers; those become a factor when you're on the far side of 60. And, the counterbalanced motor is a plus too. Actually, the E-Glide has been gone for a long time now; got an '05 Road King Custom and a Victory bagger in the garage; trying to sell the RKC, and may end up selling the Victory too in favor of the Softail.

I'm thinking about getting the Cruise Mate for my Lo. It's probably not exactly what you are looking for but I think it will work well for me. It allows you to lock the throttle with only the short throw of a lever instead of turning the star nut or whatever it's called a whole bunch of times. It also still allows the throttle to be turned if you come up on traffic. I think just being able to relax my throttle hand once in a while will be enough for me. Of course it's also a lot cheaper option for softails.

I use this:

It's a "Barefoot Willie's throttle Tender"
It easily clips on the star thing under your throttle and works effortlessly.
It costs about $9.00 on e-Bay with free shipping from the seller motorgirl63

Here is the website.

2010 fatboy low. Started with Brakeaway cruise which I have used on other bikes. Works good but not like real cruise so I went with the Cruisemount which isn't cheap but worth every penny if you are a long distance rider. Easy install and holds speed within 1 mph. 2 speeding tickets and it's paid for.

I use these cruise control grips. I love them.
I even use them in town with slight pressure. It keeps the bike from lurching when you hit a pot hole and jerk the throttle.
cranked down tight you can take your hand off the throttle @ 70mph on the hwy and run forever but you can still back off or roll on the throttle easily.
I have the black braided.

Hpoing you install this so you can tell us how you like it. I will be interested if it works as advertised.
