I got mine! Thread revived.
Scored off ebay last week, and modified myself. Countersunk 5 more bolt holes from the backside, and made 5 studs from stainless set screws to mount in the case. I had to sand the bolt heads on the backside down, to be below flush with the inside of the cover. I'm not sure if I'm diggin' the look yet. But it's definitely retro. I'm sure it'll have more than a few scratching their heads! 10 bolts, rather than 8.
I'm about $125 into it, including a new gasket. The previous cover used the o-ring. If I decide against the look, I'll put it up for sale here.
If there were a chrome shop nearby, I'd plug (weld) the holes in a REAL Panhead derby cover (which has a more pronounced round- rather than oval- "dome"), and redrill to the same specs as this one. I think the sides would have to be shaved a bit to fit within the recess of the TwinCam primary case though.
In fact- If anyone has a chrome shop nearby, I'd be willing to duplicate the process (as suggested) with a couple of Panhead covers, just to do it the way I think it should be done. You cover the chrome costs and shipping. I get a freshly-chromed cover in return for my labors.

Here is the link for Twin Cam/Panhead style primary cover. A bit pricey and made in France of all places. http://www.estmd.com/en/billy-boy/27...ary-cover.html
I went the cheap route and used a Primo Rivera derby cover spacer as an adapter for a real 36-65 derby cover. I then added the Panhead inspection cover as a glued on emblem to finish the look. About $60 total cost.

you'd call it the diaphram style. Its not the late-model o-ring style in other
words. I'm also using a OEM cork type gasket between the Panhead style
cover and the adapter so that it appears "somewhat" stock-ish.
Hope this helps,
T.
