Question How to remove floor boards?

Hello all, another one of my noob questions.

I am trying to take off my primary cover to send it out for powdercoating. I know I have to somehow move the floorboards to get to that last bolt. But I am not sure which bolts to undo.

It looks like I'd have to remove three bolts in a triangle pattern that connect the floorboards bracket to the frame. Is that the right place?

Thanks!

I just had the outer primary off of my bike and only had to remove the floorboard itself, and not the bracket. A 3/16 allen and 7/16 wrench is all you need. There is about 1/2 an inch between the primary and the floorboard bracket and is plenty of room to get to the bolt and r/r the primary cover.

Just think of it like this, it's just nuts and bolts. If you need snap a pic or two as you disconnect and disassemble each item...it will defintiely help you with reassembly. Take your time. If it's going to be apart for more than a little while, get you some baggies and tag your nuts and bolts in the baggies as you disassemble etc. Patience and Take Your Time. You got this brother!

Remove the floorboard (may not have to but this time it'll help)
Remove your shifter(s) levers
Remove the kick stand bolt and top cap (you do have it on a jack?)
Rotate the kick stand forward to remove the spring (remember for assembly)
Remove the 3 bolts

Got a point there, you may not even have to remove the control bracket. I didn't go out and look but if you get the clearance without doing all that, work saved!

i didn't have to take my floorboards completely "off" to remove the primary cover, just loosen them up enough so you can lift the bracket and get at that bolt in the forward part of the primary cover.. once that's off, the primary cover just falls off pretty much

If you have a short enough allen wrench you could get that one behind the control bracket off. After taking a look at mine to refresh my memory, mine wasn't short enough but you could cut your allen wrench if needed.

Just curious, but why would you take your primary cover off frequently? You must have an awful short Allen wrench to get to that one bolt that's hidden behind the arm of the control bracket.
