Default Stolen 2003 Softail Standard - Custom

My Softail Standard was stolen between evening of April 2 and early AM of April 3. Custom paint and loaded with extras. See picture.

Would be nice to catch the bastages that took it.

The front wheel was locked in place. They have no keys. I figure they will chop it. Makes me sick.

Btw, it would seem to me that since H-D knows all the VIN numbers of the bikes the build, if I report the VIN as stolen to them, if it would show up in a H-D shop for repairs, why could the dealers not have access to the database?

Don't know why that wouldn't work, unless the thieves grind off the #.

Sorry about your bike, I hope you get it back.

Keep your eyes on craigslist and ebay for your stuff. A guy I know found his tank for sale on craigslist and called the cops. Bike was all done, but at least they paid for it.

Sorry to hear about your bike. I am willing to bet that your bike will not end up in a shop anywhere for repairs. It will most likely be parted out or get a new set of VIN's and be registered as a custom build. A lot of bike thieves will strip the bike, buy new cases that come with a Certificate of Origin and a new frame that comes with a Certificate of Origin and use the parts off of the stolen bike and the new parts to build a bike. For less than $3,000.00 they have an untraceable bike. They use the Certificate of Origin paperwork to register the bike as a custom build. Then turn around and sell it for a nice profit.
