Ultima ignition
So I was tinkering with the bike today and pulled the cover off and found the previous owner has put an ultima single fire ignition on the bike. The mechanic had set the rev limiter at 6500rpm? And the timing curve he used was for a 100-107ci motor? I checked the casting numbers on the cylinders and they are for a factory 80ci, I could be wrong but I don't think there is a way to get 100+ ci out of the factory cylinders is there? Would having the mukuni carb and vance Hines long shots on it be why they used the curve for a bigger motor? I've said it before and I'll repeat, I am new to Harley's and I'm learning so any help is appreciated!

I put an Ultima single fire ignition (the programmable one) in my bike about three years ago. I have a stock Evo, Mikuni carburetor, and drag pipes. For a stock Evo 6500 is too high for the rev limiter, I'd back that down to 5500. Ultima recommends curve 1 for 80 and 96 cubic inch engines and you're running curve 2. However, I don't think just having a stage two setup would call for moving down to curve 2.
It sounds like you have the manual for this ignition but just in case you don't it's here:

Thanks for the link, I backed down the rev limiter to 5500 mainly because I'm not sure what they did on the bottom end, I figure better to be safe than sorry, I switched to curve1 to see how it reacts it can't hurt anything to ride it and see if it reacts better, I noticed curve 3 says for high compression I'm wondering if they bumped up the compression and went with curve2 as a happy medium.? Thanks for your help guys!
