Softail Side Mount Liscense Plate

Softail Side Mount Liscense Plate
Does anybody have a good side mount liscense plate that would fit on a softail slim / blackline? (or one that I could modify to fit)
I have looked at the kuyakan but they will not fit because they attach directly to the swing arm which will not fit with my swingarm bag. The one I have in mind is the "in close" license plate holder made by Cycle Visions. It attaches directly to the axle. I do have to have a lighted plate in my state.

Has anyone installed a new plate directly to the axle? Is it a hard task to do? The dealer wants two hours for labor to install it (would include the wiring). I have no problem doing the wiring myself but I have never messed with the rear axle. I really dont want to pay the stealer another $200
Any help or advice would be appreciated. Thanks - Cole
