Default Removing burnt rubber from exhaust?

My wife can't keep her shoes from contacting the chrome exhaust when she rides with me. Now I have a ugly burnt rubber smear on the exhaust. Anyone have a remedy for removing it?
Thanks.

Harley makes some black mark remover that has worked for me. Also try goof off or mineral spirits.

Goof Off from Walmart works great. It's in the paint section. A little on a rag and it'll come off.

Oven cleaner works too but takes longer. Don't get it on your paint. Best way is to spray it on a rag or in the cap and then dip your rag in the cap or use a q-tip. You'll have to leave it soak for a couple hours has been my experience with it.

The Goof Off works instantly. Don't use anything abbrassive obviously.

Second the easy off. Let the pieps warm up and spray it on a rag. Wipe the warm pipes with rag, but not a microfiber as it will melt.

Mr. Clean Magic Eraser.. Used one last weekend for the 1st time and it took boot marks, baked bugs, tar, etc right off.. I mean with no real effort

First I remove as much of it as I can with a piece of wood or toothpick while the pipes are hot. Then I try goof off, paint thinner or some other solvent to get the rest off.

One time I had a spot that just wouldn't come off with anything. Looked like the chrome was permanently discolored. I was about to give up when I thought of trying Mr. Clean Magic Eraser. To my amazement, it removed the mark that I thought was permanent. It really is magic.

I buffed some off with Flitz. Maybe heat it a bit before with a hair dryer.
