Red Security Light on Speedometer but no security system?

I'm having the same exact issue a s some of you have stated: headlight gets bright, instrument panel goes off, red light comes on. It is still under warranty so I should probably take it in. Bbwilli, did you find out what it was?

I subscribed to the thread. My g/f's 2011 Heritage has been doing the same kind of things.....dealer keeps claiming bad battery cell. Since it's under warranty they have replaced the battery. 3 new batteries since 2011?? Last time we had to pull the seat off cause there was smoke coming out from the terminals!

My light was coming on on my 13 heritage, I had just replaced the grips. Apparently didn't get the brake switching back together right. Have you guys found out what code it's throwing? I think to do that you turn on the run button, then turn the ignition switch on. There's a sticky somewhere around here about how to do it.

I finally took mine in and they replaced the voltage regulator and problem solved.

Mine does it too since I swapped out the headlight with the Harley LED. It's alerting you of an electrical issue (mine notifies me that the bulb is out). Yours might be that you're drawing excessive power from the stereo system.

I have an 08 heritage and yes tonight red key light came on first time ever.
i will be keeping an eye on this tomorrow. I believe it is original battery.
