I want to remove the sissy bar and mounting bracket from my '09 Heritage. Looks like I'll have to remove the rear fender to get to the mounting bolts. Any body have a better idea? Thanks.

I removed mine off I didnt have to take the fender off I have a 09 Heritage I striped my down to a solo its pretty easy .
I removed the sissy bar on my 2010 to install the quick change removable side plates and didn't have to remove the fender. If you have a motorcycle jack , just raise the bike so the rear wheel drops down and you will have plenty of room to get at the bolts. The Heritage looks great with the sissy bar removed and a fender bib put on the rear fender with just the solo seat , but I also wanted the option of quickly throwing the sissy bar and back rack on for the long hauls.
To DaSham58... You have a two tone leather tank and fender bib in your photo. I bought a used 2010 Heritage Softail Classic with the exact same tank bib, but now I also want the rear fender bib for when I remove the passenger seat and sissy bar. However, I cannot find it ANYWHERE! Please let me know where you found it, or what it's called exactly, so that I can do a proper search. My local HD dealer doesn't have any option to match. Thanks!
Each two bolts is in a bolt plate, so take one off at a time, tilt the sissy bar up, and put the bolt back in. No jacking required, even if the fender goes loose. Just watch scratching the paint.

Takes me about 15 minutes to do; but I've usually got a cold beer nearby and it's a two-beer job (one for each side).
