Default Help: 2011 Iron for 2012 Fatboy Lo

Hey Fellas,

So now that the 2013's are hitting the dealers, I was trying to get a feel on the price I should be paying for a 2012 Fat Boy Lo, with possibly trading in my 2011 XL883N Iron (Small pics attached). I have about 2,000 miles on my bike right now, and have only had it for about 3 months, but now I am looking for something bigger with more power and comfort. I have the Black Denim paint now, and probably going to stick with the same color on the Lo.

The sportster is a fun bike, but just a little small to ride two up, and at 6'3 I look like I just don't belong on something that small. Also, I would like to go on some longer trips, which I think with a couple mods the Lo could be just the bike for that.

Enough of the rambling, hopefully you guys can help me out on what I should pay for a new 2012, or what you guys have paid in the past, so I can have a decent idea when I go and try to work out some sort of deal.

Thanks in advance for the help!

It depends on the dealer. Most will not deal much lower then MSRP but you might be able to get a decent parts allowance or discounts. Really hard to say how they will deal.

Get a nice lube for your trade in, cause your gonna take it

You should be able to knock 10-15% off. I did the same thing back when the 2011 came out. The sticker was around 17,500 and I got it for 16

Call a few in your area and see what they say or say this one will give me it for this can you match

Thanks for the idea about going for the parts allowance, I will keep that in mind. Also, thanks Kozy for the percentage I should be looking for to get off, I just know that nothing major really changed from the 12's to the 13's other than the Anniversary edition, but I am still a little iffy on the colors. Appreciate the feedback!

Definitely check around but do it now. The 2012's are going fast.

And yeah, unless you paid cash for the iron, you're gonna get hosed on trade
