Default oil capacity with aftermarket primary cover

i bought an 02 fatboy this past weekend, and today i stopped and bought oil to change all the fluids, so i would be starting fresh.
I started with draining the primary, and thats where i got stumped...alot more than 26 ounces came out. So i measured how much in a ratio rite, and 61 ounces in the drain pan!! The primary cover is a chrome cover, and im guessing its aftermarket. Do aftermarket covers change the capacity, or did someone way overfill it?

did you pull the derby first? You would know if it was overfilled at that point as it would be pouring out the side if it had twice what it should.
I always just dump a full quart of oil in it. Never done me wrong yet.

You'll know when you refill it. The primary oil is not filled by ounces, but rather by a visual indication. Check your manual, it should be filled to a certain point on the bottom of the clutch basket. Fill to the point specified in the manual, regardless of how many ounces that might be.
