Default First day with a windshield. Not too happy.

I just installed this windshield on my 2012 Slim.

The top edge is right in my vision line. Has anyone cut theirs down? I'm thinking 2" off the height would be perfect. I am also getting a lot of buffeting. My t-shirt collar just about rubbed me raw. Any suggestions?

I think it looks GREAT z. I have the same one on my Softail Std-turned-Fatboy. You will quickly adjust to looking thru and over it, and will appreciate the height when it is raining as it allows you to do just that. Now add on a set of leather bags and you will transform a good bike into a GREAT bike!

there's guides online on how to properly cut the lexan plastic.. most of which say if you're going to do it..do it with a slow-rotation saw, but be quick about it so the material doesn't melt. though it looks good on your slim

Zedrx, the top of the windscreen should Not be in your line of site but rather a couple inches below it. There are several videos on Youtube illustrating the proper method to trim windscreens.

easy way to cut it perfect is to take it to a glass shop.

cut it first, then work on the buffeting.

there was a discussion on Heritage windshields a couple weeks ago here, I had mine cut down 3" and am very happy with it. I had the same problem as you the top was right in my line of vision and at night when it rained I could not tell the difference between tail lights and traffic lights up ahead - it scared me!
I found an Indy bike shop that cut it for me, I tried the glass places but they wouldn't touch it.

I figure your going to need to install a set of wind deflectors to stop the buffeting.

I could almost light a smoke behind my windshield at 60 mph on my Heritage.
