extended forward controls on deuce
Well after buying the deuce this spring. Putting 4k miles on it. Love the bike. Got motor where it needs to be. Now time to finish the fit and feel, pegs and bars probably this winter. Biggest concern is peg placement. To me it feels like pegs are in my chest. I'm only 6' tall. So what is the best bang for buck for a 2" extended forward controls? And what does the kit entail? Biggest thing would b brake side, have thought about making my own, but in that aspect like to buy a quality kit. Have thought about hiway pegs, but I like the cleaner look. Once I get the pegs where I want then I can move onto the bars

I made my own 1" extensions to make room for my foot clutch cable mount. They are 3/8" aluminum plate that I cut on the bandsaw, smoothed out the edges, and powder coated to match the controls brackets. Not too hard to do if you've got the tools, a few brews, and a cold winter! Here's a few pics at various stages of fab:
Only thing I had to do on the brake side was move the brake light switch forward an inch or so. Just drilled and tapped the frame, and moved the switch. The gave more than enough slack to fit the brake line. Probably would have worked without moving the switch, but I didn't want to risk kinking the line while I was re-bending it.

I'm about 5'10", 5'11". Anyone with the 3" think that it's too far? This is on my list of mods to do. The Duece's control are really high, which gives it the lean angle, but also makes it feel more cramped than some of the other bikes. I can really tell after sitting on my dad's Dyna with the forward controls. They sit much lower.

I'll take this opportunity to ***** out mine a bit more:
Custom:
It looks like the Custom has similarly set footpegs. You can see they're both level with the bottom of the false points cover withe the Custom and Deuce looking almost the exact same bike as far as seating goes with the exception of the bare bones seat on mine, which would raise your legs up. And my pegs are flats and sit just a tiny bit higher. It could be a difference in the tribal HD pegs vs. stock.
The Deluxe and Fatboy have boards which allow you to put your feat farther forwards and sit a bit lower under the false points cover.
The Wide Glide is the only stock forward control dyna I can think of right now, but the controls should be in the same location for all Dyna kits barring any differences in frame. You can see their forwards sit infront of the frame instead of behind them like on the softails and that they sit lower compared to a softail with pegs.
I'm pretty sure if you measured from seat to pegs, the distance would be greater as would the angl.
