Pardon me for not scrolling back thru the years of threads here. Does anyone know about how far you can go with mini apes on a Softail Slim before the cable and wiring lengths have to be changed? I'm looking at Todd's cycle 12 inch mini apes btw

 

In my experience, 12 inches is OK. That's about as far as you can go , though, without getting into some problems.

no expert here, but what do people consider mini's. if they run 10 inch bars on a street bob, then why would you call 12's mini's

 

It's all relative and semantics. Does it really matter what height does it stop being called mini? The important thing is the height, shape of the bend, etc. In other words, things that are definitive due a numerical value being assigned to them rather a descriptive name.

That being said, I think this qualifies as a mini ape.
