Default Clutch cable measurement

i can't seem to find out how to do this. I am replacing my clutch cable with a stainless braided one. I have 16" apes, but those are already on there. Just a direct replacement is all I need. Like I said, nothing is going to be different. I want to order it online because it's cheaper than the stealership of course. I took a measurement from where the "metal grommet" starts up by the clutch lever and measured to the end of the other "metal grommet" that sits next to the trans. I got a measurement of 75". Is this the correct way to measure it? Or do I just measure from where the black cable housing begins on both ends. Any help is appreciated. I don't want to go through the hassle of returning a cable

If you know what brand you want to go with, I would call them direct.

I've ordered cables directly from Barnett and Magnum, and both were a pleasure to work with. Each company had very knowledgeable staff, that can assist.
