Air Cleaner/Breather question?

Air Cleaner/Breather question?
I'm running the Heavy Breather kit from H.D. now. Been contemplating on going with the Kuryakyn Hypercharger Pro-R kit. I know there is a drastic change in looks, but, what about performance? I'm seeing more and more bikes going with it now. Anyone prefer this kit over the H.D. Heavy Breather kit? Thanks for any replies...

I saw a write up some time ago that stated the Hypercharger can actually work against you at speed.
Seems that the aerodynamics of the thing cause it to develop a vacuum when its moving at highway speeds.
Because the butterfly's are vacuum operated they are closed when your just cruising along.
That means the engine is drawing its air in through vents in the bottom rear of the cover.
The problem is that when your cruising along over 45 or 50 that part of the cover is in an aerodynamic dead zone with lower than normal air pressure.
Its up to you if you want one or not, they are cute.
But as far as I am concerned anything, cute or not, that restricts the ability of the engine to breath freely is nothing I want any part of.

i've mostly heard hear-say, but my uncle had one on his dyna, and hated it..i don't remember the exact problems he had, but he got rid of it after a few months.. and most of the hear-say i've heard/read is just negative things about them..if you already have a heavy breather, you won't get any performance benefits, so it'll just be for looks..just don't throw out your heavy breather.

Lot of posts on this and the general forum about Hyperchargers some good but mostly bad, the general consensus seems to be they're more for looks than performance, some people really hate them with a vengeance, I had one for a few years never had a problem with it except the rubber tubes splitting, recently went over to S&S teardrop type which I got a good deal on and I prefer the look.
