Default Low-profile tank console (71208-07) with combination speedometer/tachometer

I like the look of the low-profile tank console (PN 71208-07), but HD site says that it won't fit with a combination speedometer/tachometer. Does anyone know why?

I think it's because it doesn't have the rectangular cutout for the digital display.

Plug on the back of the speedo/tach makes the mounting depth too deep to fit in the shallower console.

Maybe it depends on which speedo/tacho you fit, I have that tank console and I have a speedo/tacho also, with no problems, the one I have is the Nostalgic one which looks similar to the Deluxe speedo, with an added tacho, looks cool.

I am really interested in this. I have the combo gauge and want the low profile console. Do you have any pictures?

I just wish they had it in black for my nightrain! It is definitely an improvement over stock.

There are some nice raw metal consoles out there that you could powder coat. You could PC a chrome or polished one too, here's one for $189 that has a really nice look.

as long as the stock gauge or the replacement with the combo is the same height.....it will fit . I am looking for a decent combo gauge ......hopefully before spring time rolls around

That is a beautiful unit! I would love the look of it on my bike, BUT... I know I would curse it on a sunny day when the sun is in the right position and is reflecting off the chrome. Zapp....there goes the retinas!!
