Default Advice on DNA Mammoth wheels

Hi there. Hope you can help me out. I'm going for the DNA Mammoth wheels for my 05 Deluxe (see sig pic.). I will go for 18" for the rear but I am not sure if I should get 18" or 21" for the front ? The 21" looks d... good but is there a big difference in cornering stability, driveability etc. between these 2 wheel sizes ? Which should I go for ?

From personal experience as long as you run a 3.5 rim & 120 tyre you really won't have any issues, also the bikes I have ridden with this set up have also been lowered front & rear

Cheers

Great color BTW

From my experiences, the 21x3.5 up front is the only way to go for me, as apposed to stretching a 90 on a 21x3.5 wheel. I know some have done it, but for me, I went with the 120 with the 3.5 wheel. I did lower the front with a progressive drop in kit and then went with Air Ride in the rear. Now, Im not saying the 18 up front is not a good option, because I have also had the 18 incher up front too. I just liked the look and feel of the 21 up front, so I made the change.

As far as handling, I didnt notice any change, going from the 18 to the 21. The bike performed great with the 21 and 18 up front. Like I said, I just liked the look of the bigger 21x3.5 up front. It just looks like it was supposed to be that way. Throw in some custom WWs from DB and it made the look even better. JMHO.

Heres a couple of pics so you can see the 18 I had and the 21 up front. The first 3 are with the 18x3.5 and then the last 2 with the 21x3.5.
They both rode great because I had them both 3.5 wide. So, they both looked beefy. Hope this helps in your decisions.

Couldn't have said it any better then Country. Agree 100%, running 3.5 DNA mammoth rims as well, 21 in front and 18 in rear. Coupled with progessive drop in the front and Shotgun shock in rear. Heres mine, to see a 21 in front and 18 in rear

I had the 16 on the back, but when I do it again this spring, Im gonna go with the 18 like scootluver. I dig his sled, his and Malingerer are my 2 favorites on here. It just seemed like you have more room to clean the spokes with 18s also. Mine were also diamond cut, when going down the road they had a glimmer to them. LOVED THAT LOOK. JMHO. Any time that we can help, just ask.

I think my 21 handles better than my stock wheel...the heavier 21 wheel tracks better on the road and feels way solid. I am lowered 2" frt and rr and my bike handles great.

Don't waste your time with an 18" unless you want the super fat look like WARG has. As long as you get a 120/70/21 tire on a 21x3.5 rim you will have plenty of stability. My ride has the same setup. 21 front Progressive drop ins with Ricor intiminators, shotgun shock and a 16 on the rear. That's how softail guys roll.
