Trying to help my friend out who is looking to buy a detachable sissy bar and detachable bags to a 2010 Fat Boy Lo. I'm finding the HD parts website and various charts challenging...

Getting started, he's looking at the Smooth Detachable Bags, PN 90200616A. This page claims that if you're using detachables (which he wants to do) you need docking kit 88256-07. Ok, no problem. It also states you need a Turn Signal relocation kit which is 73369-10. Ok, got it. Kinda pricey but ok.

Now, turning attention to the sissy bar, gloss black sideplates are 54258-10, gloss black upright is 54256-10. Now for the docking hardware, on the chart on the sideplate page, there is a big table, but that saddlebag part number isn't listed. Ok, so I'm guessing since I'd be using a P&A saddlebag, I'd pick 53930-03A? And it also mentioned a directional relocation kit? A different part number 54268-10 than the ones the bag mention.

I'm guessing I only need to relocate the Turn Signals once? Would I use the one the saddlebags want? Is that the right docking HW kit? I'm kinda guessing that the main difference in all the kits is the length of the bolt, so maybe the docking HW kit for the sissy doesn't matter because the docking HW kit for the bags is going to come with new length bolts anyway?

Anyone who has this combo who could care to comment on what actually worked would be appreciated!
