I just bought the Harley switchbacks jacket. It is a textile jacket that the outside zips off and it is all mesh underneath. Comfortable, rain proof and good in most weather.

I looked at a tourmaster lastweek. It was in my opinion way too complicated with way to many chinese zippers. I went with a Street and steel vented Kevlar with removable liner. Made by our Pakistani allies.

Have a Tourmaster Air Intake. Has all of 4 zippers, I think I can keep track of them. I got the white version but if I had to replace it, would go with the high vis green. Good air flow when moving and decently placed armor that is not intrusive when riding.

For my Textile Jacket, I've had a First Gear Kilimanjaro for must be over 10 years now. Pretty much looks like it did when I bought it. It's cool when it's warm. It's actually more comfortable with it on and all vents open, crossing the desert at 110*F+ than with it off. It's warm when it's cold. Down to about 45*F I can use just the jacket, without the original liner but with a sweatshirt. Below 45*F I use a Gerbing Heated Liner. However, I have put in 400 mile days at 35*F-45*F without the benefit of the Gerbing. Has kept me dry . . . and I DO mean DRY, as in 100%, not a drop, through 8-10 hours of steady rain at 60-70 MPH. Didn't expect this level of protection from the rain. I put in Elbow, and Shoulder CE Armor and it already came with back armor . . . so far . . . haven't had to use the armor! If I had to buy another I'd buy this one. In a way I did. About a year and a half ago I bought the GF one. I'd say that as far as a textile Jacket goes it's the equivalent of my Fox Creek Leather Gear. I'd do my shopping on eBay; but the First Gear Site will give you all the information on this jacket. www.firstgear-usa.com/kil.html

The best jacket I ever had:
You can use it from winter, spring summer and fall.
You can take off the leather pieces and you're left with a mesh jacket.

The best is probably Motoport, sometimes called Cycleport. Try Googling. Expensive but custom made to your size and specs. I went in there to buy Mesh Kevlar but got Stretch Kevlar jacket and pants.very good.

Finally went with a Poker Run textile by Fieldsheer. Got it on sale from Biker Bandit. Great deal, I paid $89 on sale from $229. Great company to deal with. Free shipping for orders over $99. I am 5' 7" 175 lbs, got the large and it fits great. Heavily padded with removable armor and water proof liner. Looks pretty good too. Has dark grey reflective piping for night visibility. Very happy with it. They also have good deals on Dunlap H/D tires also with free shipping. I've used them several times and have never been disappointed with products or service.

I also wear some protection at all times on the bike. I bought a nice leather shirt about 10 years ago and it works great. It's medium weight leather with a very light liner. When it's hot, I just leave it unsnapped. If it rains, my rain gear fits right over it. It has no crap on it except for 2 outside pockets and 2 inside pockets. I know it's not textile, but is an alternative. It is MUCH lighter and cooler than a leather jacket. Ride safe.
