Smile Best Heritage Seat?

I'm 6'1" and after an hour in my stock 2005 Heritage seat my back is killing me. I like a big seat. Is there one that doesn't require replacing the rear seat that is less painful and is available with studs? Thanks in advance!

Stock Heritage seat is the most comfortable HD seat made. I would look into your seating position....bars are more likely the problem.

My stock Heritage seat is awful. I went with a Corbin, retained the stock pillion and after about 2500 miles of gettin used to my *** that Corbin is good for a long day.

I went from the stock seat (which was great) to a saddlemen with rider backrest to a ultimate and so far the ultimate is living up to the name

The stock Heritage seat is the only stock HD seat that I have not had to change. I did add a Grasshopper brand backrest...without a backrest, does not matter the seat, my back will hurt after a bit of riding.

I love my Corbin and I loved the Vintage Mustang I had on my old bike, but you need to consider changing the angle of your current handlebars or getting new ones, a back rest, switching to forward foot controls, and your posture in general.
Some stealerships have handlebars you can try on a bike, and you should just go sit on as many bikes as possible with different seats.
Seat, handlebars, controls, they're all expensive, so majestic sure you choose wisely, or choose to go all out.
Good luck!

Take your stock seat to a custom upholsterer and get what you want. I did with my front and back seats as well as my back rests. I had the stock padding removed and replaced with Gelfoam, not gel inserts. I then got it covered to match my bike. It cost no more then an after market seat and I was able to get it made for ME!

I also agree sitting position has a TON to do with it too. I went with apes as well as the seat being redone and I no longer have any back or tail bone pain no matter how long I ride. You also have to be careful because a seat that works for most people may not work for you at all.

I've got a Signature Series seat with backrest.

I don't think it's more comfortable in the butt than the stock seat but the backrest makes a huge difference.
It does push me up a little and lowers me about an inch so at 6' 1" that might be an issue for you. At 5' 8" it works well for me.

I've also got a Harley "Circulator Pad" that to me is worth it's weight in gold.
It doesn't soften the ride but it keeps my butt dry.

As to the Wife; she likes the Signature Series Seat but I just added "Road Zeppelin" pad that adds even more comfort. I went with the Road Zeppelin vs the Air Hawk strictly due to I like the Zeppelin look better and it has an integrated inflation bulb.

So in short, perhaps you need to add a backrest.
