Kudos to DK Customs, Slim's running better than ever...
I just went through upgrading to new pipes (V&H Big Shots), a new A/C (S&S Super) and had the dealer do the Stage 1 remap.
All was well, the bike ran like a champ, with a couple of not-so-great exceptions.
It was decel popping like crazy, and the engine heat increased noticeably.
I decided to look into adding ViED's as a quick way to add a little more fuel, as the bike was almost certainly running as lean, if not moreso, than before.
It ran great, just too hot.
I can't even imagine how bad it might have been once summer kicked in.
I contacted DK Custom Products and ordered the Nightrider FL-ViED-10's.
They arrived in a few days and the install took all of ten minutes.
I had to experiment with the settings a bit to get it dialed in.
After trading PM's with Kevin at DK, he took the time to explain in detail, the causes of decel popping, and finally suggested a richer setting.
Today I tried it, and took it for a test ride.
I still can't believe the difference in the way this bike runs and feels now with such a minor tweak.
The decel popping is gone. All of it.
I even tried to make it happen intentionally, with little success.
At most, I now just get a throaty rumble from the pipes.
Throttle response is noticeably improved as well.
And best of all, the oil temp dropped by at least 20°.
After a little better than an hour-long ride today, it never got warmer than 225-230°, and that included a fair amount of stop-n-go traffic.
Hats off to Kevin at DK for all the help.
And these ViED's? They work.
I'm now a believer...

Glad to hear it's running well for you. The XiED family of products produce a lot of improvement for the $ spent.
Below is an AFR read-out we ran not long ago with a 103 on the Dyno.

I just emailed them today to tell them the Horns they sent me with the Coil Relocation kit did not work, and they asked me to email them the receipt of new horns I bought and they offered to refund that.
I would say that is very good business in my book.
Only improvement would be to source better Horns .

Once you open up the intake and/or the exhaust, then they will be even leaner, and performance will drop and excessive heat will decrease the longevity of the engine.
Whether it is "worth it" to spend $100 for XiED's or $500 for a full tuner, only you can answer that.
XiED's will give you about 90% of what a tuner will give you in benefits, but only costs 20% as much $.
Some guys don't want to leave that last 10% on the table and it is worth it to spend an extra $400 to get all available improvement.
I personally have a sporty that I have been 100% happy with the XiED product.
I also have a 103 that I want to get every last bit of available performance out of and on the bike I spent the extra $ for a full tuner.
Click HERE for more info on the FL-ViED-10, including the list of benefits beyond just running cooler.
Another product that works particularly well for getting rid of decel pop AND increasing low and mid range torque are the Thunder Torque Inserts.
Click HERE for more info on them.

This may be a question for DK but I looked on your site and there are alot of these and they all seem to say the same thing but are different there is Xied and a Vied and a FLvied and a FLxied and a x14ied? which one? I see some are for newer year models looks like the fl series but the others all seem like they would work. I have a 2008 fxstb and stage 1 kit and it surges at low constant speed and of course the heat.
