Default Big bore 07 or shotgun air ride?

Ran into some extra cash, and want to do something to my bike. I was floating around the idea of getting faster or looking sexy. What would you do? Any other big $ mod ideas?

Both are great ideas. I personally did the shotgun shock first and I don't regret it one bit.

A year ago if anyone would have asked me that question I would have said Big bore all the way, first and foremost. My bike has very little left on it and in it that is stock. I have always been a HUGE fan of having a bike that is a bit of a brute. Then, here comes along the Shotgun Shock. This Shotgun Shock takes riding to a whole new level. It's also so much more than a mod that "just makes you look cool". It's performance and safety benefit's, along with making a bike look cool, is unmatched. It makes riding so much more comfortable and FUN and it eats up adverse road conditions. I have an example, last Monday a few guys and myself went riding. I did something that I have never done in my 43 years of riding and that was to allow something to catch my attention and distract me, for a split second. We were bopping along, 60, 65 MPH and I went off the road and into the gravel along side of the road. That was the 1st time, ever, I thought and said to myself "you're "F'ed" now Dude". I was sure I was going down. 1st, I didn't panic or try to jerk my bike around to get it back up and onto the road again and to my total amazement my bike held tight and the Shotgun Shock, along with the progressive monotubes up front, allowed me to stay in total control of my bike and the bike barely even flinched. Had I still had my stock suspension on my bike, I would have gone down. The outcome would have played out much more different than it did. A bike with the Shotgun Shock on it has many more benefit's to it than just "looking cool" and I often wonder how many bike owners are aware of the added benefits to themselves and their bikes with this mod done to their bikes than just appearance. I LOVE the attention my bike gets when I pull up to a watering hole, who doesn't? I love pulling up slammed or to dump the air in front of everybody. But the truth be known it saved my *** when I got off road and into that gravel that day. Also, PLEASE don't try that at home kids to see how well it works for you too. Shotgun shock or not, 65 mph and heavy gravel do NOT mix well at all. So, my vote goes to the Shotgun Shock and I DO NOT say that lightly.

I don't need to get anywhere fast so I chose Shotgun and I don't regret it. Still my favorite upgrade 2 years later.

My 1986 FXSTC is still 80 cu in. My FXCWC is also 96 cu in but with a Shotgun.
Works for me. YMMV.

I would go with the shotgun... depending how much extra $$... add a set of cams to give u the extra grunt. I added the woods 555.. and couldn't be happier... my next major mod is the shotgun

i would go with the shotgun. everywhere still has a speed limit. so all the bigger motor will do is get you to the speed limit quicker or get you a few extra tickets. the shotgun will save you money by not getting you tickets and will improve the ride and the enjoyment out of every ride especially if you do any two up riding.
