I think I'll use the rule they taught me in hazmat class in the fire department, from the paramedic side.
It's the rule of two thumbs.
First, let the response team show up, getting no closer than where they could cover the scene with the tip of their thumb at arm's length.
Then, you respond no closer to where you can cover THEM up with the tip of your thumb at arm's length.

What I meant was, they generally don't name things after you until you're gone.

Man, I just came back fron a 100 mile ride and I must have seen a dozen of those things, a couple were 8' tall...
So, define "big", or will sheer quantity suffice?
