whistle or whining noise after wheel change
i just swapped my factory 16" 40 spokes for 80 spokes and went to a 21" up front. bike rides fine but when i let off the throttle to start to slow down i hear a whining, it its louder the faster you go and gets softer as i slow down. the wheel and tire are on good, nothing is rubbing and it seems to do it all the time. brake on, brake off, clutch in or out. any ideas? never heard it before i did the swap

If your brake caliper is off only the tiniest bit on the new wheel compared to the old wheel the rotor leans a little bit towards one pad or the other. You can tell if the rotor is running a little hotter than usual. The calipers will let the pads adjust, but it takes a little while for the pads to "recenter" completely. (On my bike the holes in my rotor "sang" for a little while, but the wheel is fine now.)

i am only hearing it with the engine on. i turned it off and rolled down a hill and i did not hear it at all. it kinda sounds like its coming from the air filter area. i guess i could not be going fast enough to make the rotor whine? im pretty sure its nothing major but little stuff like this bugs me. i did not change anything on the motor at all. new front and rear wheel and a 2" front and rear drop. im gonna try to get a video of it. i am going out of town tomorrow so im trying to get some peace of mind.
