Default Memphis Shades Fats Windshield on a Slim Pics

I hate windshields, but in order not to be coated in bugs on longer trips I find it a must. It actually looks not to bad on this bike. I couldn't find many pictures of these shields and none on a Slim so for those looking here they are.

I went with the 19" which is a bit tall, but after a 30 mile trial run I think I'll leave it as is for now. it's about 2" above my eye level but if I sit up a bit I can see over it. When I'm up higher I get more buffeting on the head which I hate.

This is good quality shield. It has a 1" up and down adjustment. I have it as low as it will go. I went with the black gradient on the bottom which matches the bike well. Memphis Shades doesn't have the FLS listed for hardware as they say they've never fitted one. Well I can report that it fits. And finally.....pics:

Looks nice! Which mounting hardware did you end up getting (part number)? They don't list the Blackline either which is why I was leaning on going with the HD shield.

actually looks good to me. obviously the bike looks better without a windshield but the old school lines of the slim make it ok to throw a standard shield on there

Did you look in the Slim Pictures thread? There's quite a few there...

Your's was the only one I remember seeing. Too much jabbering in that thread and not enough pictures

I used this hardware:

Sportshield Mounting Kit for FL Softail Models (without Spotlights) Black

Black finish 262898 MEK1952

Figured an FL was an FL.

I think it looks great, sorry about the height. I thought as tall as you are, that one would be perfect.

Memphis Shades also makes some lowers to match the shield. Lots of options.

I have also seen where some guys have trimmed them down. IDK.

Ya my only option was the 15 or 19 and I think the 15 would have been too low. I think I'm okay with this height and I can always cut it down a bit. I think I'll look into the lowers as well.

Been thinking of getting one of these for my slim. Currently have the batwing version. The batwing version looks good, but blocks the front 'vintage look of the bike. It be nice to have both options especially with

Memphis batwing on SoftailSlim
the quick release kit. Incidentally, to those naysayers with wind shields. it's not just getting hit with bugs. My wife got hit by a huge hornet on a recent 200 mile run. And stung. With led to and infection and 2 days of IV antibiotics. No Joke. Other than that, I've been hit in the face with a 1" piece of road gravel. Again, no joke. And I have enough dings in my grill lol.
