the xied along with any other tuner is redundant. Most people install xied so they can avoid the expense and tuning of a real tuner. Running both just tosses another variable in the mix. Theres no reason why you can't get your tuner alone to do what the xieds have added to the mix.
I ran the ViED's for a year after that awful dealer stage 1 "download".
It definitely made a difference, but I was never too crazy about the full-time piggyback install.
When the V&H FuelPak3 came out and I jumped on it.
As good as the ViED's were, they can't hold a candle to the FP3...

I don't consider a dealer stage 1 download a tuner. A real tuner where you can go in and change the fuel and spark tables to fine tune both throughout all rpms and all engine load conditions is a real tune as far as I'm concerned. Im not surprised that vieds on top of a Screaming Eagle download helped the bike run better, but again a Screaming Eagle Stage 1 download is far from being a true tune. Screaming Eagle downloads still run like poo and need the vied just to richen things up a bit. A real dyno tune with a real tuner, flash or piggyback would make it so you shouldn't need any vied or xied fix. Even a canned tune can be adjusted a bit to negate the need for an Xied.
