Default oil splash back

Looking at a 2007 softail deluxe; excellent ride however noted a very small drip of oil on the RT side cover just below the oil filler neck; advised it was common on bikes jetted as the oil occasionally doesn't stay in the air filter as it would if it were not jetted resulting in these droplets that splash back. Not knowing the bike and hoping to get some additional feedback. The bike is very clean and no noticeable oil drips etc. anywhere. Oil droplets were as clear as water.

Hi, A bit more info would be helpful. I dont know what "jetted" is. Do you mean the carb has different jets? the bike is fuel injected,no jets. It cant have a jet engine, can it?
Who advised you this is normal?

It is common for oil to come out of a/c and drip back on bike as you ride. This usually can be fixed by lowering amount of oil.

oil below the oil filler cap on the bag? Umm, you have a container of oil with a dipstick cap that wears over time and perhaps does not seal like new. Replace the o-ring or get a new one, fixed. The oil is heated and cooled and circulated in there, there will be some oil that might get passed the o-ring. The bike is 6 years old. If the miles are low this is more likely to happen than if it has been ridden.

Not sure what u were referring to as the bag? There is a cap at the top of the right side cover that I thought was the oil filler neck. Am I incorrect? I m not a gear head so I am more tentative about things that seem odd to me, like this unidentified oil source. Thanks

The filler cap is in the reservoir, that reservoir is called the "oil bag".
