gas gauge gas cap replacements

I have the speedo/tach combo and it shows gas level can I remove the gas gauge entirely and any suggestions too replace the cap and gas gauge on a 2009 fatboy

just get a couple flush mounted caps (and let me know how it works out lol - cause I have been thinking of ditching the gauge as well cause I just keep track of my km's)
