Went with Carlini Evil Apes 1.25 14"

Anyone have any good sites to calculate the cables/electric extensions I will need!

Thanks!

Here's my 2013 with the 1-1/4" diameter HD Fat Apes. The bars themselves have about a 12" rise and come with 4" risers so they are marketed by the MoCo as 16" apes, however I ditched the kit risers in favor of some 1.5" RSD risers instead.

I took these shots the day I brought her home. Since that day I have replaced the mirrors with black HD long stems and I've flipped them under the bars. Much cleaner look. (Also replaced the silver fork strip with black). those small changes make a difference but I dont have any updated photos to share. Next I've got to rotate the bars a bit so they are inline with the forks. They look a little odd with their current orientation.

I also have to say I love the 10" strip bars on oomariooo's sled.

question for you guys running 14" carlini bars on there slims, what extensions did you go with; +6 or +8?

carlini told me the slim is too new of a bike and they have not had the chance to get any kits or measurements to give out. so i'm on my own and was hoping to be able to order the lines while im waiting for my bars to come in and have it all shipped same time frame.

if i have to wait, mount the bars and then take measurements i will but hoping to get bailed out by someone on here. thanks guys!

How is it that most every thread that talks about this subject always ends with someone asking what measurements were used without any response from the forum member that didn't have any trouble at all posting pics of his ride/work, but then disappears when they are asked about the measurements used? Is it because you don't know due to the fact you had somebody else do the work? Fine, say that. Do you need a double D cup around here to get a question answered about cable lengths and Carlini apes like bikerornot.com??

OK here is what is used and from 14" 1.25" Carlini Gangster apes with there high roller risers, I order my cables from HD Bike parts and he did the math for me. I only had one problem the brake like is about 3 to 4 inches to long and that's not the big of a deal. I installed them my self and took about 8hrs not bad for a first timer!

I just think the evil apes are a perfect style for the slim's, enough to sacrifice the 1.50 for the 1.25's.
sorry i'm about a year late on this. but i took that pic with my phone above the head which accentuates the bars. photos on the web look good but don't do it justice - at least w the iPhone camera. the bars don't look tiny in diameter. now if you're going 17 i would get the 1.5 thick.

everyone of my buddies thought 14 was too short - til they sat on the bike. if i had to do it all over again, I'd choose exactly the same setup.
