2006 Softail Deluxe blows fuse when I turn on passing lights
Hello everyone, I'm trying to figure something out and apparently need some help. I just recently bought a 2006 Softail Deluxe from a guy and whenever I ride with just my headlamp I don't have a problem. As soon as I turn on my passing lights the fuse blows. Is there a grounded wire somewhere? If anybody could please give me some guidance on where to start and where to go from there I would very much appreciate it.

Since it's a used bike there's no telling what the original owner did. Check and make sure the bulbs in the passing lamps haven't been changed and exceeded the stock wattage. Also check that the fuse hasn't been changed to the wrong size as well. (Please don't put a larger fuse there) You just never know what people do.
Is it possible they tapped into that power for something else. Any other accessories on the bike?
A short is more than likely as well. Maybe the toggle switch wires behind the cover are shorting out..
lots of possible causes. You just need to be systematic at troubleshooting and always look for the simple things first..
