Default New Speedo/Tach Combo Issue

I have installed the new Speedometer/Tachometer part number 70900070A, to replace the SE speedo and separate tach. I have a problem in that I can not get it to go into setup mode. It will only go into diagnostics. I have spoken to the dealer, and they were cool enough to lend me another one, to verify if it was the gauge or my bike. The second one, even after synching up with my ecm, did the same thing. The service manager said he had never seen this before, with the exception of one time where it was the reset button. So, I bought another reset button and installed it, and I am still not able to get this gauge to go into setup mode.

Now, the bike started life as a carb model, and converted to a 103" FI model, using an ecm part number 32852-06 and harness.

Any suggestions?

No I mean a completely different model instead of the part you mentioned. See if it is a model thing, not a bike thing. If the different model works, then you know you can't get that specific model.
Unless of course they did give you a different model.

Setup mode allows you to change the colors of the lights of the tach. These gauges are very common, so it should go into setup mode with no issue.

It tells me what gear also. Have you spoken to your dealer about it?

Did you do the actual Mileage transfer from the old Speedo?

Yes. On these speedometers, you must sync them up to the ecm, and transfer the mileage before you can do anything with them.

yeah, I know. I installed one also and didn't have any issues. Maybe it 's the speed you are switching the ignition switch on and off?

I hope you get it worked out..
