Default rear tire size question on 07-09 night train

will a 220/50/20 tire fit on the rear of a 07-09 night train?

NOTES:
will be changing rear fender
will be doing the chain conversion

im thinking with the chain conversion it should give me the extra room...?

width difference from a stock 200/55/17 to a AVON Cobra 220/50/20 is .79 inches

Have you also considered the extra 3" in diameter? Seems like that will be a crazy fit without a custom fender, or raising the bike.

That looks awesome. I'm sorry I can't help you with the tire width as I don't have a Nighttrain. I would be you could probably squeeze it in there though.

Seem to me U've already answered U own question..

Think the chain would allow it. next U need to measure the room in front of Ur tire and see if the new one would go.

good call oct1949... getting my night train in a couple weeks, so don't have one to look at here... anyone out there with an 07-09 night train take a quick pic and/or measure the gaps from the front of the rear tire to the swing arm?

the diameter difference is between the two tires is 3 inches total, or the real number im shooting for is and additional 1.5" that needs to clear

thanks in advance

Where you going to find a 20" wheel? Never seen one that fits Harley...the vast majority of custom rear wheels are 18"

An o-ring chain is actually wider than a 20mm belt..about 4 mm

You will have to lower it 1.5" to get it back to stock height
