Default Labor to install chrome frontend

What would I be looking at as far as labor costs to install a chrome front end on my fatboy. The entire front end kit, uppers, lowers, etc.

I know it will vary based on labor rate, but my shop charges about $70 per hour.

Just had this done on my bike... the Harley dealer wanted 4 1/2 hours @ $85/hr. A local independent custom bike builder did it for me and charged me 3 1/2 hours @ $48/hr. BIG difference!!! Looks great!

I can't remember how much I was charged but I know I was given a discount since the front end was done prior to me taking delivery. I don't think 4-4.5 hours is outrageous.

I called and asked about this very thing a few days ago, and talked with the Service Manager at Gails HD outside of KC.

He quoted me a price of approximately $240 to install the complete chrome front end package (lowers, upper tins).

If I supplied the front end kit, 4.0 hours is what my local HD Service Department wanted...but if I boughtthe parts from themI couldget a break on the labor(we all know who would come out in front on that deal...).I ended up doing the projectmyself. Made a simple mistake, or two...but now I am the resident expert on chrome front ends! It is not real difficult and a great way to get to know your Harley! If your Service Department will let you supply the kit, get it from Zanotti!

The difference in looks is HUGE! Well worth the $$$!

Good luck...

What about trying to install it yourself and saving the funds for more upgrades It isn't a difficult job, just sounds scary when reading about taking the entire front end off. Grab some beer and a helping hand and have a blast. Here is a great start:

Just a thought

I haven't ruled out installing it myself. Just exploring my options. Thanks for the help.
