I don't l have a rocker but I am in the process of having a dash made to get rid of the ignition and speedo on the tank so I can run a sportster bar clamp odometer and I am relocating the horn so I can mount the ignition to the horn spot. it seems the little things are the pain in the ***.

I got inspired from another member 'michapop' who has a clean look on this tank console...
PM'ed him and he said he shipped out his stuff to rocketbobz in UK...I was not that comfortable in doing it plus all that duty and customs..

I took the tank console off and shaved it..
What I learnt in the process is, if anyone is ever wanting to do this
first of all the tank console is made of a mixture of lead and aluminium. When I first took it off I thought it was all aluminium and it will be much easy to strip it and weld it..
With the help of a metallurgical engineer I came to know the composition of lead and aluminium.,the worst part it is friggin difficult to weld a metal piece that has lead to it...

Hence I removed the portion that had the gear indicator and evended it and completely applied metal paste and bondoed it..
Bought a Joker Machine side mount speedo clamps so my speedo is going to the side
Going to take it to a paint shop so get it all gloss black and will soon post pics of my completely rocker makeover from chrome to all black

I'm bringing this thread back to see if anyone has had any luck with this. This Eli's my next mod. Don't really wanna send my dash to Europe to have it worked on like Mica did.

a little off topic for this thread, but is there a 3.5 speedo that would be plug and play for a softail? I'm thinking this might be an option for me...

i'm swapping out my FB lo dash with a blackline dash. I've been debating on speedo relocation options. i wish i could use the bar mount CVO breakout speedo, but i can't because i have 1.5" bars.

i have a thread i posted a while back looking for options, but haven't found the right set up yet...
