The chrome side pieces is how the back fender is mounted and secured. I have a 2017 BO

I lowered mine and had to modify the passenger seat bolt that sits under the rear fender.

Yep, not much to it. I removed mine to replace the reflector assy with the Custom Dynamics billet LED light.
