Looks great lakesurfer... FWIW I like the seat rails. If you could get a Heritage Springer rail you can get a little backrest for it, but, it pushes you pretty far forward. I personally hated it and I'm 5'10".

Replaced rear brake pads & decided to break-up the chrome on my engine by swapping out the heavy breather chrome intake tube with a black.

started it today. first time in the last 6 months. laughed to myself thinking about a thread on here about carb vs. EFI... as I unplugged my tender, twisted the throttle, pulled out the choke and she turned right over. love that damn old 88B. most reliable thing I've ever owned.

Rode the hell out of her, let her cool down, then polished the hell out of her. She needed it after Bike Week and riding on the beach in Daytona.

And then this happened. Swapped out old corroded switchgear hardware for shiny new chrome hardware. Also polished out the recesses. Bottom bolt is before, top is after.

Changed the oil and filter then cleaned up the mess. Also installed a Jagg 10 row cooler and DK oil filter relocation kit....My last messy oil change. This is a good thing considering I do 3 to 4 oil changes a year. Also don't have to worry about accidentally damaging that crank position sensor any more. Had to put both on left side, not enough room on right because of my hardline head breather and catch can set up.
Time to ride and test for leaks. Not the best pic...
