Compu Fire 10/84 Ring Gear kit and one piece starter jackshaft
In preparation for future mods I want to install a Compu Fire 10/84 ring gear along with a one piece 10 tooth jackshaft assembly.
I purchased the Compu Fire 10/84 gear set #54003, and a All ***** One Piece Jackshaft #79-2106.
With the Compu Fire gear set, the teeth mesh together beautifully like they should, But when I try using the All ***** pinion gear on the Compufire's ring gear they don't mesh together very well at all,,, it's bad enough that I don't even want to try and install them together,,, Both pinion gears are 10 tooth,, but the All Ball's pinion gear is a lot smaller in diameter than the Compu Fire's pinion.
I thought they would both work together, but they don't,,
What is going on? Did I get the wrong All ***** pinion gear? Can I even use a one piece design with the 84 tooth ring gear?
I really want to use the 10/84 ring gear and a one piece jackshaft.
Any help would be great!

Well I just got off the phone with Compu fire. Turns out they don't recommend using a one piece starter jackshaft with the 10/84 gearset, as it can cause the gears not to properly mesh when engaged.
Sooo, I will be using the stock jackshaft and related components and just replacing the 10 tooth pinion gear with the supplied gear in the 10/84 gearset.
As a first time customer I am impressed with the help I received over the phone!
Thanks you to the guy that I talked to, I for sure would buy you a few beers if ya didn't live across the country.
